This year's Summer
School in Methods and Techniques will take place
between the 28 July and 13 August. Registration is now
open, so visit the ECPR
website before the 30 March to secure your first
choices and take advantage of the Early Bird discount.
Part of the ECPR's
acclaimed Methods
School, the Summer School offers state of the
art methods training across the full range of
methodologies, paradigms and approaches. The unique
format of the Summer School means that students can
choose not only from a wide range of courses, but a
number of course formats also. Whether you need a
quick refresher in a particular skill set, in-depth
training in a new methodology, or both, you can create
a bespoke
programme to suit precisely your needs. The 2016
school will give students a choice from 15 intensive
refresher courses; 13 main courses focusing on
research design; three on data collection; and 24 on
data analysis. Each course
is taught by an expert in the field and some are
supported by a dedicated teaching assistant.
The host for the 2016
Summer School will be Central
European University in Budapest where students
will find a range of excellent facilities within which
to take their courses. With two UNESCO World Heritage
Sites within the city, and a vibrant cultural scene,
Budapest will provide the perfect backdrop to the
intensive study and vibrant, collegial atmosphere of
the Summer School.
In order to make the
Summer School as accessible for students and young
scholars as possible, the course fees will remain at 2015
rates. Participants from ECPR member
universities can take advantage of up to €200
off their total fees with the Early Bird discount,
which is double the discount from 2015! If you are
from a member institution, you can also apply for
funding from the ECPR (now open). If you have
previously attended either the 2016 Winter School in
Bamberg or the 2015 Summer School in Ljubljana you
will also qualify for an additional €50 discount.
For more information
about the Summer School and how it could benefit your
studies and career, see the ECPR website or contact
Becky Plant (methodsschool@ecpr.eu).
